Gas Probes

Gas probes

Gas probe is immersed in the gas duct and is supposed to extract the gas sample and to measure its temperature.
Probes differ in length, diameter, range of work temperature, material and thermocouple type.
Probes can be easily connected to probe holders and to heated hoses.
Following types of gas probes are delivered:

  1. Regular inox (stainless steel) gas probes
  2. Strengthened inox gas probes
  3. Gas probe with in situ filter
  4. Ultrahigh temperature ceramic gas probes

Note: Probes described here do not fit the GA-12 analyzer which uses compact gas probes

A. Regular inox gas probe

Gas probe is made of stainless steel pipe with 8mm/6mm external/internal diameter.
Is equipped with NiCr-Ni (K-type) thermocouple.
Suits standard madur probe holders and heated hoses (M30x1 fitting) with K-type compensation wires.
Is equipped with fixing cone 8mm.
Standard lengths: from 150mm to 1500mm - see ordering guide.
Are produced for two temperature ranges: standard (up to 800°C) and high temperature (up to 1150°C).

B. Strengthened inox gas probe

Gas probe is made of a double stainless steel pipe with 12mm/6mm external/internal diameter.
Is equipped with NiCr-Ni (K-type) thermocouple.
Suits standard madur probe holders and heated hoses (M30x1 fitting) with K-type compensation wires.
Is equipped with fixing cone 12mm.
Standard lengths: from 750mm to 2000mm - see ordering guide.
Is produced only for the high temperature range (up to 1150°C).

C. Gas probe with in situ filter

GasProbe_C

D. Ultrahigh temperature ceramic gas probe

Gas probe is made of ceramic pipe with 10mm/6mm external/internal diameter.
Is equipped with PtRh-Pt (S-type thermocouple) in ceramic sleeve.
Operates only with probe handles and heated hoses with compensation wires for S-type thermocouple.
Is equipped with standard madur M30x1 fitting and fixing cone 12mm.
Standard length: 1500mm - others on request.
Is capable to operate in ultrahigh temperatures (up to 1600°C).

Hereby tool helps to configure, in few simple steps, ready to measure analyser. It allows to select main structural components, like gas dryer, gas sensors, etc. Some elements, like probe pipes are to be selected separately. This mini-configurator, generates a list of madur codes that identifies the selected configuration. Customer may add own comments and requests. Device configuration has to be verified by pressing the Refresh button in the Order Summary section. Order summary can be send to our sale engineers for validation and in order to obtain price offer.

Presenting prices principles

Mounting the probe pipe to the probe holder

  1. Insert the tip of the probe pipe into the holder’s hole and push it until it stops.
  2. Mind the thermocouple’s pins to slide gently in their positions and do not bend!
  3. Tighten up the probe pipe’s sleeve.

Fixing the gas probe to the duct’s wall with a fixing cone

Attention: while installing the probe on the stack always use protective gloves!

Loosen the wing screw on the fixing cone and move it towards the probe holder.

  1. Immerse the probe pipe on the desired depth via the hole in the duct’s wall. Use the probe pipe of an appropriate length, so the segment outside the stack is as short as possible.
  2. Move the fixing cone towards the duct’s wall and tighten it until it fits securely in the wall. It is advised to use a wrench.
  3. Secure the probe pipe on the cone by securing the wing screw.
